Having decided to shoot my feature film, DELIRIOUS, in Nice on the French Riviera. I met with my production manager, Gregory, In Paris.

The French Location Agency found a beautiful turn-of-the-century Mansion, high in the hills overlooking Nice.. Gregory and I arranged the flights and hotel for my Wardrobe Stylist and model Isabella Camille coming from Los Angeles, Dahlia Grey from Seattle and Anita Blond, Frank Gunn and Ursula Moore coming from Budapest, Hungary. We decided on a place on the Promenade des Anglais, the street that parallels the Mediterranean Sea.

While in Paris we hired my Camera Assistant, Stills Photographer and Make-Up artist. They drove to Nice with the rented Super 16mm camera package and negative film stock.

Getting out of Paris was a major feat because a labor strike was scheduled for that day, creating giant traffic jams across the city.

The next day Gregory and I drove up the hill to the Mansion to see it for the first time. It was very impressive! We met the owners and they were eager to tell me that they had become good friends with the photographer, Helmut Newton, who had done several shoots in their house.

The following day when cast and crew arrived at the house, my stylist prepared Dahlia and Anita for the first scene – a period lingerie scene reminiscent of the 1920’s. The scene went very well, both Dahlia and Anita felt good about their chemistry and performance.

Next we filmed a girl/boy scene with Anita and Frank. Slightly formal, Anita wore a top hat. You couldn’t tell, but Frank orgasmed halfway through, so I missed his on-camera orgasm. Anita wasn’t happy about this but I told her we could live without it. She calmed down with smiles all around.

Isabella Camille appears in a series of solo shots wearing 20’s lingerie, – handcuffed to the kitchen stove, wearing an eyepatch; with one shoe on and one shoe off. I posed her outside with a flower placed in her crotch.

Now it was time for some solos of Anita Blond. Using my wind-up 16mm Bolex camera, we walked around the mansion with a light panning on and off her body. These shots became the “connective footage” which portrayed Anita sinking into a delusional state. Later I filmed Dahlia, Isabella and Ursula fondling each other when Anita enters the room unexpectedly and starts masturbating to what she is witnessing.

Moving to the game room, I posed Isabella laying blindfolded under a pool table as Dahlia, in a very low cut dress, bends over the table with pool cue.

The delusional Anita, arrivies with suitcase in hand, claims that she has inherited the mansion and attempts to exert her ‘ownerhip’ of the property. Having shot the scene in two versions with Dahlia, Isabella and Ursula clothed and then in the nude, Anita becomes more confused. I edited the footage with Dahlia kissing Anita, then walking up the steps in the nude, then cutting to her dressed.to created a surrealistic flavor to the scene.

Returning inside we filmed the dinner scene with Anita hallucinating the other girls ravishing her. Returning to sanity she bolts from the table, leaving the other women with smirks on their faces.

The following day I filmed Anita in the back of a Mercedes, smoking and masturbating that I intercut with Dahlia in various states of undress around the mansion.

The next shot had Frank and Ursula in a girl/boy scene designed to push Anita psychologically over the edge. Watching from a balcony above the couple, Anita, becomes upset by what she sees… She is led off by Dahlia and Isabella. We next find Anita post lobotomy as ‘nurse’ Dahlia injects something in her arm with a large hypodermic needle.

The final two scenes were shot back-to-back, the first with a submissive Anita polishing Dahlia’s toenails, then serving her a drink as Isabella and Ursula watch. The conclusion of the film finds the lobotomized Anita as a human nightstand, holding a radio in her hands and wearing a lampshade on her head as Dahlia lies next to her masturbating.

Having completed the principal photography, everyone left for the airport except for my wardrobe stylist, Gregory and Dahlia Grey. My camera assistant drove back to Paris to drop off the exposed film at the lab for developing. The next day we drove the short distance between Nice and Cannes, the home of the famous film festival.

With the Carlton hotel as the backdrop, I filmed Dahlia nude under an open long coat walking on a yacht pier. This footage was used at the beginning of the film to establish the characters of Anita and Dahlia to the viewer.

We all flew back to Paris. My French Video Distributor took us all out to dinner. By this time Gregory was exhausted having to translate French into English and being surrounded by the various languages on set (English, French, Czech and Hungarian.)

I returned home satisfied that I had filmed another ‘winner’.
